Abstract:
Under current North Carolina law, adopted children may not be given the identity of biological parents. If passed by the General Assembly, House Bill 1037 would provide an open state registry through which an adopted child might locate biological parents

Abstract:
In the last five years there has been an increase in the number of lawsuits brought by adult adoptees seeking access to their adoption records in order to obtain information on their natural parents. This article explores two of the arguments adoptees put forth; The Good Cause Argument and the Constitutional one.
