Abstract:
In N.C., women most likely to have received prenatal care were married, employed, wealthier, first-time mothers. Also, women who received primary care from a private physician or health department were more likely to receive some prenatal care.

Family planning can have a great effect on birth outcomes. The weight of the baby is a big factor that can change based on use of family planning. In addition, pregnancy rates are also affected by the use of family planning.

Abstract:
Certain sociodemographic factors, maternal behaviors, and intensity of smoking during pregnancy can determine a baby’s outcome. They may also determine the likelihood a woman will stop smoking during pregnancy. The poorer and less educated a woman is, the less likely she is to quit.
