Abstract:
The Egyptian collection at the Museum was recently reorganized and updated after over 20 years on display. This reinstallation has allowed for updated educational material to be produced, a rearrangement of the objects into a thematic display, and for new items to be added to the display. The gallery’s reorganized display cases now introduce three important themes: The Afterlife and Funerary Practices, Gods and Goddesses of Ancient Egypt, and Artisan Craft and Technology.

In January 2010, an imaginative, play-based financial literacy exhibit called Moneypalooza opened for a five-year run at Marbles Kids Museum in downtown Raleigh. In Moneypalooza, young children practice earning money and making smart choices about how to spend, save and share it through engaging exhibits and games. Funded by the North Carolina Bankers Association, new activities will reflect modern customer engagement with today’s banks.

The Moore Square Museums Magnet Middle School is the first public school to win the National Award for Smart Growth Achievement. The school's design places it in Proximity to museums and other cultural institutions that may be utilized for daily curriculum.
