Kel Normann, class of 1985, earned a degree in marketing from East Carolina University, which has aided him in his role as managing director of the Normann Financial Group of Wells Fargo Advisors. Given his success, Normann sees it as an honor and responsibility to give back to East Carolina. As an advocate for ECU, Normann provides a business scholarship, aids the College of Business Advisory Council, and provides assistance to the Colleges of Nursing, Human Ecology, Student Life, and the ECU Foundation.

John Clark, class of 1996, is vice president of marketing partnerships for sporting events at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Clark was introduced to the business side of sports as an intern for the Kinston Indians. From there he quickly moved his way to the big leagues in 2006 as director of corporate development the NBA’s Houston Rockets, and later the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. He gives back to his East Carolina alma mater with internship opportunities for students in public relations fields.

Sam Wornom, ECU class of 1965, co-founded a chain of convenience stores, The Pantry with the business know-how he gained at East Carolina. After the success of The Pantry chain, Wornom successfully branched out into other businesses such as warehousing, manufacturing, and investments.
