Sea Grant is not the only program of its kind. There are many out there all for different states coasts. Sea Grant has many projects going on, some of which are being aided by other programs.

Abstract:
Coastal research is conducted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on five coasts in the United States and their coastal flooding. Their research facilities include locations in Beaufort, Chesapeake Bay, northern Gulf of Mexico, Hawaii, and San Francisco. Rates of flooding are researched at each coast.

Five different projects have been awarded grants from the N.C. Community Collaborative Research Grant program. These diverse projects highlight research into climate-change, locally sourcing seafood, invasive species, sustainable workforce planning, and marine aquaculture studies. All projects focus on community outreach and collaboration.
