Toe River Arts Council’s (TRAC’s) twenty-third annual Holiday Studio Tour will feature more than seventy artists in Yancey and Mitchell counties. A guide lists artists and galleries on a map of the tour. This is an opportunity for the community and visitors to meet artists where they live and work.

Hendersonville will offer an outdoor art gallery experience through the 2017 ArtScape Banner Project, reproducing selected work from local artists onto forty banners that will hang throughout the downtown area for a year. ArtScape will include a wide range of styles, media and subject matter, with both two-dimensional and three-dimensional work represented.

The Swannanoa Valley Fine Arts League celebrates their fiftieth anniversary. Margaret Gilbert and Olive Granger started the league in 1967, recruiting mostly women artists in Black Mountain and the surrounding region. Members continue the legacy of its founders through regular meetings, displays of work and varied art classes.
