Abstract:
When Ocracoke Island's last fish house closed, not only were fishermen affected but also the island's culture and way of life. Abstract:

The house was inspired by the frugal self-reliant spirit of early Blue Ridge Mountains settlers, constructed from sustainable materials and designed to function on renewable energy.
