From a horseback jaunt in 1887 to one of the United States most prestigious mansions, Biltmore Estates and Gardens have had blossoming history. The 125 room castle was originally built on 100,000 acres of wooded countryside by George W. Vanderbilt. Now the lavish Estate rests on 12,000 acres and draws in thousands of visitors every year.

Under the gaze of the hazy Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains, there are limitless varieties of tourist attractions and activities. Among them is the Six Annual Craftman's Fair, held in Asheville, North Carolina and sponsored by the Southern Highlands Handicraft Guild. The fair features crafts from brooms to baskets, metals to feathers, and music too.
