The public light-art show, Particle Falls, will occur every night in Raleigh from March 24 to April 23. Designed by Andrea Polli, an artist and scientist, the show primarily aims to draw attention to the polluting effects of vehicle emissions, which North Carolina's Department of Environmental Quality lists as one of the area's leading air pollutants.

Crystal Dreisbach is the founder of Don’t Waste Durham, a community organization which hopes to reduce consumer waste. Dreisbach just launched a reusable takeout container program called GreenBox. With a special app, consumers can sign up to check out and return the containers at participating Durham restaurants.

The North Carolina Museum of Art’s new exhibition, Panorama: North Carolina, features black-and-white photos taken by local photographers. In more than thirty photos, the exhibit surveys the changes that have swept across rural North Carolina, casting light on the Old North State.
