Charles Gold, commissioner of the Department of Insurance, discusses review of insurance companies and the change of relicensing dates. Five hundred and eighty eight companies in North Carolina are licensed to write insurance policies for individual consumers. Gold proposes changing deadlines to alleviate congestion caused in March, the renewal deadline.
