Alice Person - Music

Alice Person held music in high regard. For Alice, her music was both a source of pleasure and income. She earned income from her music by performing it, selling it in printed from, and using it to prepare the way for the sale of her remedy.

Before Alice published her music, she played it for many years when demonstrating pianos for various piano dealers at fairs and expositions throughout the Southeast. One such exposition was in Dallas, Texas. The following report from the Dallas Morning News makes mention of "her rendition of popular airs." No doubt, these airs are among those included in the collection preserved in this exhibit.
