Transcripton This surgical kit was manufactured by A. S. Aloe and Company, located at 415 North Broadway from 1890 to 1897. It is exemplary of the transition during the late 19th century to all metal surgical instruments that could withstand steam or harsh chemicals used to sterilize them as required by the new Aseptic Surgical Technique.
