Parker's Tonic
The front of the card depicts two men seated at a dinner table, one gentlemen is eating his dinner enjoying himself while his friend appears to be exhausted. The worn-out sir has his left elbow on the table resting his head. The text beside the man enjoying his meal reads, “A year ago I was like you sick and unable to eat…..but Parkers Tonic has made me strong and vigorous again.” The text at the bottom reads “Everyone says Parker’s Tonic Is The Best Cough Medicine.” The upper right corner states: "cures coughs, consumption, asthma by rejuvenating the blood." The reverse of the card promotes two different Parker’s products hair balsam and tonic. The Parker’s Hair Balsam was sold only in large bottles for 50 cent or one dollar and restored the youthful color and beauty to gray hair. While, Parker’s Tonic purified blood, energized the whole body and restored health. It cured cough, colds, indigestion, rheumatism, bronchitis, malaria, and diarrhea, sold only for 50 cent and one dollar.
