          <mods:abstract>Adjustable oak operating table. Area of table's surface is 111.5 cm by 67.5 cm. Table features head rest, attached to table with four metal hinges, adjusts to a 90 degree angle. The leg rests can be adjusted independently of one another and are approximately 56 cm in length. The leg rests have carpet on the foot portion of the rest and a leather panel on the leg portion. The top ends of the leg rests are angled to fit smoothly with the rest of the table and are attached to it by decorative hinges. The table can be tilted by pushing one of two metal foot pedals and simultaneously lifting the table using the decorative metal handle. The interior mechanical components are made of wood and metal. There are two storage sections in the table base. One section has two drawers, each with an iron pull. The second section is a revolving cabinet with two shelves and a metal slide lock. The table stands on four turned legs. Table was manufactured by the Roberts &amp; Allison Co. in Indianapolis, IN between 1886 and 1890; Company name is imprinted in the metal edge around the foot rest.</mods:abstract>
