- Leo Jenkins, at left wearing hat, and others counting collections from the Liggett & Myers fundraiser for the James S. Ficklen Memorial Stadium at East Carolina College. The Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company paid one cent per pack for all empty L&M cigarette packs deposited in collection bins or mailed to the Student Government Association.
