Public health nursing bag

Title
Public health nursing bag
Description
Have you ever had your temperature taken by the school nurse? School nurses are public health nurses. Public health nurses work to help people in their communities meet basic health needs. Some have even gone to their patients’ homes, just like the country doctor! These nurses are called “visiting” or “community” nurses. In North Carolina, public health nurses work under the State Board of Health. Founded in 1887, the North Carolina Board of Health was the 12th to be established in the United States. This nursing bag was used by M. Louise Brantley Ordess, a public health nurse in North Carolina from 1947 to 1979.
